README

DSH Session Rerun

English | 中文

dsh-session-rerun is an installable DeepSeek Harness Web plugin for inspecting and replaying a completed session Step.

Features

  • Groups the durable session timeline by Turn and Step.
  • Shows model replies, tool calls, Skills, failures, and elapsed time.
  • Displays referenced script and Markdown filenames as compact badges on the right side of each Step.
  • Replays a top-level Step in a new session without changing the source session.
  • Replays a selected Subagent Step through a new main session in the original workspace. The new main Agent keeps only the recreated delegation, waits for the new child, and continues from that child's result.

Installation

From npm (recommended)

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add \
  dsh-client-ui-session-rerun \
  --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/

For DSH Desktop, use the same package with the Desktop profile:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile desktop add \
  dsh-client-ui-session-rerun \
  --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/

From GitHub

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add \
  github:liuyangdongdong/dsh-session-rerun

Replace --profile web with --profile desktop to install the GitHub build in DSH Desktop.

Start Web

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

Restart an already running Web process after installing or replacing the plugin.

Behavior

The plugin never mutates the source session. A successful replay creates a new main session in the source workspace and opens it in the Web UI.

For a normal Step, the new Agent receives the durable history before the selected Step and that Step's logged user input. For a Subagent Step, the plugin creates a new main session and a new child session. The child replays the selected Step, while the new main session reconstructs only the delegation call, waits for the child, receives the new child result, and then continues.

Nested Subagent replay is intentionally unsupported. A Step must exist and have a matching step/end event before it can be replayed.

See Architecture for the package split and lifecycle.

Packages

PackageRole
dsh-client-ui-session-rerunInstallable Web bundle, timeline projection, replay controls, and file badges
dsh-session-rerunHost Remote that reads durable sessions and creates replay sessions

The root package declares dsh.bundle.patch in package.json; cordis.patch.yml mounts both roles. This follows the Harness profile and bundle model without modifying agent-loop.

Development

Requirements: Node.js ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0 and pnpm 11.7.0.

pnpm install
pnpm typecheck
pnpm test
pnpm pack:check

The committed lib/ artifacts make npm and GitHub installations executable without an install-time build. The Web client artifact uses the DeepSeek Harness module-loader bundle format; regenerate it with a compatible Harness checkout after changing browser source.

The client accepts both the split conversation registries used by current Web profiles and the combined uiConversation service used by DSH Desktop 2.0.4.

The standalone CI checks the distributable bundle, package exports, Cordis patch, and pure timeline projection. The complete Host, browser registration, event-assembler, and React integration suites remain in packages/host/tests and tests; they run in a compatible DeepSeek Harness source checkout, where the source-plane module table is available.

DeepSeek Harness is in developer preview, so peer dependency versions may need to move with upstream releases.
