Install
You need a working DeepSeek Harness installation and pnpm on your PATH.
Install the tagged release into the web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:panduka56/dsh-model-picker-plus#v0.1.0
If you run DSH through npx, use:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:panduka56/dsh-model-picker-plus#v0.1.0
Restart the web profile and refresh the browser. DSH reads the included bundle manifest and mounts the plugin without manual profile edits.
Upgrade or remove
# Upgrade the GitHub dependency
dsh plugin --profile web update dsh-model-picker-plus
# Remove it and return to the stock picker
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-model-picker-plus
Use the same npx @deepseek-ai/dsh prefix if you do not have a global dsh command.
How fallback works
The plugin registers for the conversation.input.model seat at priority -1. The stock picker remains registered at priority 0. Harness renders this picker while it is healthy and returns to the stock picker if the plugin unloads or its registration is disposed. The package does not edit DSH core files.
Data and privacy
The plugin uses Harness's existing modelDirectories service and model-selection RPC. It makes no network requests of its own. Pinned model IDs stay in browser localStorage under dsh-model-picker-plus:pins.
Compatibility
Version 0.1.0 was tested with DeepSeek Harness 0.1.1-rc.2 and its web profile. Harness is still pre-1.0, so later releases may change the client slot APIs. Open an issue with your DSH version and browser console output if the picker does not load.
Troubleshooting
Confirm that DSH installed the bundle:
dsh plugin --profile web why dsh-model-picker-plus
dsh --profile web --dump-config
Then restart DSH and hard-refresh the browser. Search the browser console for dsh-model-picker-plus; a healthy load logs apply enter, apply exit, and slot registered.
