Novel Studio is a local-first long-form fiction workspace for DeepSeek Harness. Version 3.4.2 keeps the native conversation as the primary surface while project navigation, manuscript revision, scene context, canon, research, and skills stay linked around it.

The interface is an original editorial workspace. It borrows the broad idea of a visual AI novel workflow, not FeelFish branding, source code, or proprietary assets.
Install in DeepSeek Harness
During local development:

dsh plugin --profile web add file:C:\path\to\dsh-novel-studio
Restart dsh web, then open any session and click 小说 inside the native composer or the N action beside the session title. The linked workspace opens around the existing conversation without navigating to a separate legacy page. It can be closed at any time and restored from 设置 → 小说工作台; unsaved manuscript, scene, and project forms are protected before closing or switching.
After npm publication:

The workflow router is always available to the model. The four specialist skills follow the switches saved in the current workspace. Project-created skills are also registered with the Harness skill provider while enabled.
Local data
The host stores the active project in:
<workspace>/.novel-studio/project.json
Writes use optimistic revisions, a serialized write queue, an append-only event list, SHA-256 event links, and atomic file replacement. A new workspace starts completely empty; Novel Studio does not insert a sample novel.

The Vite development server uses a browser-local demonstration state when the DSH host API is unavailable.
Version 3.4.2 scope
Version 3.4.0 uses one in-conversation workspace at every viewport. The left project navigator and progressive cascade expose writing, setting, constraint, and capability modules without full-page jumps. The right scene cockpit becomes an accessible drawer on narrower windows. Character relationships, key timeline events, forbidden-writing rules, craft techniques, research sources, and custom AI skills are editable project data. Imports are previewed before writing, AI-generated changes remain pending until human acceptance, and schema v2-v5 projects migrate once to v6 while future schemas are refused without rewriting data.
